Merry Christmas Eve to Colony Drop listeners worldwide!  On this episode, we discuss and debate who did more damage to Zeon during the One Year War: Amuro Ray aka the White Devil, or Char Aznable aka The Red Comet.  Isaac tallies their contributions throughout the war, from the Gundamjack all the way to A Baoa Qu, while Brian does some math concerning Amuro's effectiveness relative to other ace pilots.  Who do you think was Zeon's greatest enemy?  Let us know!

We celebrate Thanksgiving 2025 aboard the King Space Pig by diving in to your listener comments!  As we feast on turkey and various casseroles, we cover a myriad of topics including Mayu Asuka's broken phone, Dorel Ronah's implied revenge, the Earth Alliance's inability to use mirage colloid nukes, the grand failure of Zeon's Dolos carriers, Coordinator mental superiority, mobile suit dimmer switches and the Joey hypothesis, Shuji "The Huffer"  Ito, Challia Bull's screentime in GQuuuuuux, Civil War history, winches and Jurassic Park, the Chimera Corps, the 2002 sci-fi anime RahXephon, the 1997 sci-fi film Gattaca, and much more!  Plus, Isaac does a great Mayor Quimby impression! 

0147: Trapped in a Gundam Video Game

Having protagonists get trapped in video games has been a popular anime premise in recent years.  What would getting trapped in a Gundam video game look like?  Isaac takes us into the world of Kenji Everybody who is trapped in a Gundamized Final Fantasy via a mishap with a bottle of Ramune that leads to a jaunt across timelines with Gaia Gear technology and battles with AI.  Brian takes a completely different path with Gundam Survivor which is essentially a One Year War trauma simulator that's equal parts MK Ultra, Battle Royale, and Hatchet.  What kind of Gundam video game would you like to get trapped in (or trap someone in)?

0146: Boom in the Pocket

In 1989's MSG 0080: War in the Pocket, Zeon's Lt. Col Killing orders Col. Von Hellsing to nuke the Side 6 colony known as Libot after the Cyclops team failed to destroy the Federation's new prototype Gundam via conventional means.  As luck would have it, the Federation captured Von Hellsing's ship before the nukes could launch and spared Libot from annihilation.  In this episode, we discuss what might have happened if Killing's plan to nuke Libot was successful.  Brian sees this as an early version of Operation Stardust that inadvertently gives rise to a much earlier showdown between the Titans and Axis Zeon in the asteroid belt.  Isaac sees an occupied Zeon with its people forced to choose a side, with factions like the Crossbone Vanguard, the Zanscare Empire, and the Jupiter Empire rising earlier.  Plus, we wonder if AI and nanotech should qualify as WMDs; find out what happened to Lt. Col Killing; and argue about asteroid lasers and hot lava missiles!  Welcome to Alfred's Nightmare!

Join us at ringside of the 13^th Gundam Fight as we review the first half of 1994’s Mobile Fighter G Gundam!  As the Gundam franchise’s first alternate universe, this show had it all – love, anger, sorrow, abstract nanotech villains created to solve 1990’s environmentalism’s worst nightmare, and much more!  Plus, in a shocking turn of events, Brian’s son allies himself with the Dark Gundam! Isaac continues his streak of baseball references before demanding more samurai motifs!  Let’s get things started!  Gundam fight all set!  Ready?  Go!!
