0040: Char’s Counterattack Review Part II

We conclude our review of the climactic 1988 film, Mobile Suit Gundam: Char's Counterattack.  On this episode, Char defeats his own plan, the Alpha Azieru is designed by the Death Star engineers, and Zeon unapologetically uses the color blurple.  We also discuss the mobile suits, our head canon for the cyber newtype enhancement process, and whether the film sticks the landing. 

0039: Char’s Counterattack Review Part I

We review Char's Counterattack - the theatrical film released in 1988 that served as the conclusion to the original Mobile Suit Gundam story.  Featuring the final, knock-down-drag-out duel between Amuro Ray and Char Aznable, this film is densely packed with annoying teenagers, gold bars (the currency of the future!), mystery pasta, newtype space magic, and even a Mexican standoff that would make Tarantino proud.  The DVD sleeve was pretty sweet too.

Is COVID-19 endangering the Gundam live action movie?  No one really knows, but we doubt even newtypes are immune to the virus' economic wrath.  On a more positive note - MSG is now available to stream (legally)!  And, the new SEED dub has arrived but with a few caveats you should know about.  This episode now with more ASMR.
